It is posted on the bulletin board in the Mail Room. The current groups are: Bicycling (Brookwood Bikers); Billiards; Bridge; Conversational Spanish; Gardening; Games (Game Nights); Golf (there are several golf “groups”); Knitting; Parkinson’s Support; Pickleball: Walking; Water Volleyball.Residents should review activities printed on the back of the monthly calendar for day/time/location of all scheduled activities. 9/26/23 post: I plan to drive to Raleigh this Saturday, September 30 to the NC Museum of History. I’m interested in their current exhibit on the history of furniture making in NC. I’ll likely be there no more that two hours and plan to eat lunch in their cafe. I plan to leave the Village around 9:30 and should be home between 2:30 and 3:00. Anyone interested in coming with me? Fluency is not a requirement, but simply the ability to comprehend and contribute to simple and fun discussions. We will be meeting the first and third Sunday of every month at 3:30 PM in the Tavern. So dust off your high school or college Spanish and join us! (Please do not bring refreshments to this venue.) Sue W. 5/2/23 post: Are you aware that 20 minutes away from TVAB is a relaxing winery and vineyard that has regular events? One of those events is this Friday starting at 3 PM! Cinco de Mayo Lobster Bash.Come celebrate with us on Cinco de Mayo with a great Lobster Bash party at Grove Vineyards & Winery. Cousins Maine Lobster Food Truck (at 5pm), Latin House Music by DJ Aline Nunez of Inkari (3-6pm)/Aquarius Moon Band from (6-9pm). Music is Free, Lobster and Wine cost money.On Sunday May 23rd is the annual Cheers to Cheese Event. It's held from 1 PM to 5 PM. Come Celebrate the various Cheese Makers and pair with Grove Vineyards & Wine award winning wines. The NC Cheese Trail will have various Cheese Makers from around the state to offer samples of their handmade Cheese. There will be music and food trucks and crafts. Jim B. 3/28/23 post: Looking for folks who are interested in food, wine, lunches, and dinners away from campus on an irregular schedule. Sounds weird, right? Well, shaking things up a bit is always good, I think. I am talking about informal get togethers at one’s residence for drinks, snacks or even whole meals. Having a guest come in to share food, wine, or cooking knowledge. Hopping in a couple of cars and going out to lunch or dinner in Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, or Greensboro. Chime in if you would see yourself wanting to be part of this. Sue W. 2/28/23 post: I am hoping to plan a trip to NC State in Raleigh for alumni, fans, supporters, etc. who might be interested in attending a basketball at Reynolds Coliseum later this year. Ray H. 10/21/22 post: If you like to play games, you should join us on Game Night each Monday at 7 pm in the Club Room. Currently our games include Skip-Bo, Mexican Train, Rummikub, Kings in the Corner, and Sequence. You can play whatever game you prefer. Our fun-loving group usually has ten or more players. Pam B. 9/6/22 post: It has been reported that the kitten mentioned in the 8/28/22 post below has found a new home with Angel M. of Security. 8/28/22 post: A skittish, very young black kitten was seen and heard around more than one house on Lakewood Court Saturday evening. Or are you interested in forming a group to meet once a week to play for fun? Or are you an experienced player who might wish to participate in some friendly competition?
